Dr Khalil Nourafkan

Principal Geologist/Founder

Khalil is a petroleum geologist with an interest in solving complex problems by adopting innovative and cost efficient solutions. For over 17 years he has worked for international energy companies in appraisal, development, and production of their oil and gas assets, and was involved in the planning and execution of several upstream projects from a single well to a challenging giant field development.

He has contributed to the successful development of world class oil and gas fields in the Middle East, Kazakhstan, Africa and the North Sea. He has delivered astonishing results by adopting innovative solutions which resulted in successful field development and cost savings in excess of tens of millions.

With a PhD in sedimentology and MBA in oil and gas management, Khalil has a broad set of skills to offer: development geology, integrated reservoir studies, geomodelling, reservoir management, development planning (FDP), volumetric estimation, uncertainty analysis of petroleum reserves, sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy, operations geology, detailed well planning and decommissioning. His management skills spans from project management to  financial modelling, M&A, A&D, and business development.

He is a multilingual, multicultural, and an effective team player who is committed to delivering high quality results within allocated budgets and time schedules by applying excellent project management skills.
